This was a must have at Wedding's that I would cater. Everyone loved the BBQ Sauce, so this is the Semi-Homemade version.
- 1 18 oz bottle Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 16 oz cans Dr Pepper
- 2 ropes beef smoked sausage
In a sauce pan add Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and 1/2 half can of Dr Pepper cook over medium-low heat. Let the sauce simmer for 20-30 minutes, or until the it begins to thicken. If you want your sauce to be thinner you can add the rest of the can of Dr Pepper to thin it.
Cut rope sausage sections in half lengthwise or into 1'2" slices.
In a large spaghetti pot add 1 can of Dr Pepper. Add sausage slices to Dr Pepper, bring to a boil cook for 10 minutes. Reduce heat and simmer. The Dr Pepper will almost cook out.
Add the Dr Pepper BBQ sauce to the sausage. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
